Le petit âne vert - E-commerce platform
We created an e-commerce website for an eco-friendly local business in Paris.
We had to inspire customers to come in store and online to discover Le petit âne vert's bulk goods, generating traffic and giving publicity to the events planned at the shop.
We came up with the idea to offer a “free product” you can order by click & collect.
Role - UX/UI Designer
Team - Jeanne/Marc-Henri/Thomas
Project duration - 8 days
Context
First we have an interview with the owner and a survey to figure out the customers pain points.
We also produced several sitemap analysis & heuristic to see the glows or grows of the competitor.
Our client is Amar, owner of the local eco-friendly grocery store Le petit âne vert, a shop located in the 12th area of Paris doing bulk sells at a fair price. I’m going to lead you through our process of creating a e-commerce website for a local business.
Research
Personas and problem statements
We did a 'Worst Idea' exercise & we decide to follow this one:
Offer a “free product” that you can order by click & collect.
The goal of this “free product” would be to bring people to the shop to collect it but also to get them coming back from time to time on the website, generating traffic and giving publicity to the events planned at the shop. The product could be a fruit or vegetable too ripe.
With all the information we gathered we created a persona, archetypes. We then define our problems statements:
-
From the users side, they need to find a local practical friendly store that sells sustainable products at a fair price.
-
From the business side he needs to create an attractive E-commerce website to bring more local clients and change mentalities about Eco-friendly grocery shopping
Ideation
User flow and Moodboard
Low-fi and mid-fi are really in between UX and UI, it’s a sketch of the mobile website focusing on the flow of the user, the dispatch of the information and buttons.
To focus the testers on the user flow and not the design, we kept it black and white. We gathered feedback and applied the changes on the spot.
We figure the path the user would use to do the task of ordering our “free product”. Here we keep it simple, a free product you see straight from the homepage next to a regular click and collect website.
Thanks to the moodboard, we leaned towards a color palette and graphic assets that reflected the intention of humanity, sustainability, heath.
Prototype & Test
High fidelity prototype
And finally here we are, our final product. We do a draft of a desktop version, we make both versions interactive and responsive and it’s ready for delivery!
Next steps & Conclusion
Because a project can always be improved and 8 days isn't a long time to start from scratch, I wish we had more time to work on the desktop version and the responsiveness, gather feedback from the client and the users.
We definitely rose to the challenge!
